Itqan ("the App") is a Quran and Islamic knowledge app. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Data stored on your device only (never sent to us)

• Bookmarks and reading progress - stored locally in SQLite on your device
• App settings (font size, translation edition, reciter preference) - stored locally
• Tasbih counter history - stored locally
• Prayer notification preferences - stored locally

Data processed by third-party services

• Location - Your approximate location is sent to the Aladhan API (aladhan.com) to calculate prayer times and to determine Qibla direction. Your location is never stored or persisted beyond the current session. If you deny location access, the app defaults to Makkah coordinates.
• Chat messages - When you use the AI Chat feature, your messages are sent to Google's Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com) to generate responses. Google may process this data according to their AI terms of service. We do not store your chat history on any server.
• Subscription data - If you subscribe to Itqan Premium, purchase information is processed by Apple and RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) to manage your subscription. We do not have access to your payment details.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not require you to create an account
• We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers
• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
• We do not serve advertisements
• We do not sell or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes

• alquran.cloud - Quran text and translations (first-launch download only)
• Aladhan API - Prayer time calculations
• everyayah.com - Quran audio recitations
• cdn.jsdelivr.net - Hadith collection data
• Google Gemini API - AI chat responses
• RevenueCat - Subscription management

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App contains Islamic educational content suitable for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
